Camden Giving works with local people on the things that matter to them, from ensuring everyone can eat well every day, to celebrating Camden’s diverse communities. We believe in solidarity not charity.

Becoming a Founding Funder for Camden’s Fund - LGBTQ+ Fund

We are looking for founding funders for an LGBTQ+ Fund for Camden.

High hate crime statistics tell us being LGBTQ+ in Camden isn't always easy and safe for everyone, and that there's more Camden Giving should do. We're looking for a coalition of businesses who can help us fund and support grassroots LGBTQ+ work in our borough.

We hope the creation of an LGBTQ+ Fund will grow grassroots LGBTQ+ activism and community cohesion in Camden. Camden Giving has a strong track record of funding under-funded movements and helping them go on to thrive and attract sources of funding from elsewhere. Creating a stand-alone fund, separate from our other funds, will be a step forward in creating a thriving LGBTQ+ civil society in Camden.

Support us to establish a Camden Sports Fund

We are keen to set up a Camden Sports Fund which would support community leaders who are harnessing the power of sports for social impact.

A high child poverty rate, increasing youth violence and poor health outcomes, severely impact the quality of life and education and employment opportunities for Camden’s communities. Our funded projects have illustrated the potential for sports to be a catalyst for change across these areas.

With the Sports Fund, we want to enable community groups to build capacity for their existing work and deliver sustainable impact.

Partner with us to support the Equality Fund

The Equality Fund supports Camden organisations working to address inequalities around race and disability.

The vision behind setting up this fund was to enable our communities to continue accessing vital services which may not be replaced without urgent funding. However, bearing in mind the disproportionate impact of poverty on racialised communities or those with disabilities, our alumni panel set these as a focus for the fund in 2022.

This fund has also been a pathway for many of our We Make Camden grantees to upscale and progress to a more established offering.

While we have been able to fund several brilliant organisations delivering crucial work in these areas, we recognise the need to continue building capacity for grassroots organisations and community leaders. This becomes even more crucial at a time when there is a rise in racialised violence and tensions both locally and nationally.
