Equality Fund
Update: Equality Fund Application Period Closed. This is an annual fund, the next time we open will be in 2025
Equality Fund 2024
Camden Giving set-up a community-first fund called the Equality Fund towards the end of 2020, to ensure that Camden communities are still able to access vital services that may not be replaced if not urgently funded. As with previous years, a panel of Camden residents will award 2-year grants of £30,000. The Equality Fund is our only unrestricted fund, set up to provide unrestricted funding to small charities and social enterprises that actively bring together people from different backgrounds to create communities that can thrive in Camden.
Initially the fund was open to any qualifying applicant proposing an application to counter any form of inequality in Camden, but in the last two years, following a consultation with our alumni, the scope of inequality was refined to include only countering the issue of race and disability-related inequalities.
Eligibility
This fund is only available to Camden based organisations with an annual income between £50k - £300k, with the exception of previous We Make Camden Kit grantees for whom the minimum annual income threshold will be waived. We'd suggest thoroughly reading through the fund’s page on our website before applying.
Timeline
This fund is currently closed for applications.
As a participatory grant-maker, decisions for this fund will be made by a panel of Camden residents. This means that people who are surviving inequality are paid, trained, and supported by Camden Giving to give grants. The Equality Fund panel have worked together to design a funding criteria that responds to inequality in Camden. The anticipated timeline for this grant is as follows:
Fund opens for applications: to be confirmed
Fund closes for applications: to be confirmed
Panel of Camden residents shortlist applications: to be confirmed
