In October of last year Camden Giving hosted a lunch and learn at Lendlease 1 Triton Square, presenting on who Camden Giving are, how we are trying to reduce inequality and poverty in the borough and how we have partnered with Urban Partners businesses to do this together, with corporate volunteering one piece of the puzzle.

Good philanthropy is never done in isolation, it takes a lot of hands to bring about change. This seems particularly true to us at Camden Giving because of the participatory approach we take.

In collaboration with Urban Partners, Camden Giving are supporting employees to make a difference to local communities by coordinating employees to skilled volunteering opportunities.

The Future Changemaker Fund is made up of contributions from Camden businesses, foundations and individuals.

This is the sort of work developers need to embrace if they are to build trust.

We need to change our understanding of the word ‘volunteering’, it encompasses much more than it is sometimes understood to be.

In September Camden lost 3 young lives in 5 days. In the midst of this tragedy, our Future Changemakers hosted a participatory debate to introduce new ideas and people to each other. Rachel Johnson from Phoenix Court attended and has written about what the event has led to.
